I am a board certified, fellowship-trained neurosurgeon trusted with nearly 7000 surgeries over the past 17 years in the East Bay. The medical community has voted me a "Top Doctor" for over 10 consecutive years. As a sign of trust by the medical community, I have operated on over a hundred doctors, nurses, hospital employees and their immediate family.
Using Medicare data, the non-profit consumer agency, Consumer's Checkbook, lists my practice as providing among the best outcomes for spine surgery in the Bay Area.
My practice is a personalized one focused on spinal care, benign brain tumors and hydrocephalus. Instead of nurse practitioners, physician assistants or trainees, I personally perform the initial history. With a craft mindset rather than a factory mentality, I personally perform every aspect of the surgery and oversee your recovery.
To reduce risk, my philosophy tends toward the smallest possible procedure. As such, more than a third of my elective cases do not require a hospital stay.
I have operated alongside the same surgical team for over a decade at Alta Bates Hospital where I also serve as the Chairman of the Department of Surgery.
In light of the current Covid crisis, we are offering telemedicine appointments. Please call to arrange.
How do I help my patients overcomeconcerns about neurosurgery?
